Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters; it's a name known throughout households across the world. Once a safe haven for mutants, it is now within the public's eye and the topic of many discussions inside various political systems. 'Are they a threat?', 'Is it safe?', 'Why do they need to be in a private school?', and 'Who is protecting whom here?' are just a few of the questions whispered about the institute due to events that transpired over the course of Christmas.

The student numbers of the once prosperous institute are dwindling greatly with each new threat that arrives. Murmurs of the mutant terrorist Magneto and his cohorts in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants are abuzz amongst students and teachers alike but there is more to the world beyond than just the obvious as many of the students are starting to find out. Talk of mutants can be overheard everywhere and in many places has become the subject of many political races. What the futures holds has yet to be determined though with each passing day it seems less welcoming and more threatening.

Now, nearing the end of the second semester of its first year open to the public, the Xavier Institute is being put to the test in various different ways and the ties that bind are pulled to their limit.

This RP is based on the Marvel comic New X-Men: Academy X, but set in an alternative time-line, though the game is still loosely based on the 616.
